This page is about the Golden stone at the side of the lane leading to Edge house farm and the Gold bar from Waterfall wood.
Bars 2 and 5 were found near the Golden stone, bar 6 was found 5 yards west of the stone all the bars were shallow in the ground about 6 to 8 inches deep The stone is a boundary marker stone from pre-history. In the picture of the stone the fence post behind the stone is 4 foot high.
Waterfall Wood is 8 minutes walk North East of the Golden Stone You enter Waterfall Wood through a tangle of undergrowth. The Waterfall is at the far end of the overgrown valley.
The stone in the photo was on top of where the bar was buried and had sunk into the ground for 5 inches the bar was 14 inches from the surface
